Sharon Dahlgren

Sharon L. Dahlgren, age 73, of Strandburg, SD, passed away August 15, 2021, at her residence. She was the widow of Loren Dahlgren. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 21, 2021, at Tabor Lutheran Church in Strandburg. Elmer Brinkman will officiate. Music will be provided by Kathy Granquist as organist with soloist Paul Peterson, accompanied by Verla Peterson.

Visitation will be at the church on Saturday, prior to the service, starting at 9:00 a.m.

Burial will be at Tabor Lutheran Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be all of Sharon’s grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Active pallbearers are: Ray Lindberg, Kent Englund, Dylan Johnson, Kody Johnson, Tamra Peschong and Colleen Quade.

Sharon was born to Melvin and Grace Lucille (Hanna) Lindberg in Watertown, SD on April 11, 1948. She was a 1966 graduate of Strandburg High School. After attending LATI, Sharon worked in a bank in Milbank, then medical secretary at Brown Clinic. After her mom fell ill, she moved home and took care of Lucille until she passed. She also worked as the janitor for Tabor Lutheran Church in Strandburg. Then she married Loren, did daycare, made wonderful decorated cakes, and worked for the Grant County Review as a columnist, writing about Strandburg news.

She was a member of Tabor Lutheran Church. Sharon enjoyed baking cakes, crocheting, and was an avid Minnesota Vikings fan. She started the healing garden at the church. Sharon also enjoyed doing genealogy, planning family reunions, shopping, canning, and watching her niece play hockey.

Sharon is survived by her daughter, Lisa Johnson Joi of Strandburg, SD; three grandchildren: Kristi, Dylan and Kody Johnson; six great-grandchildren: Devin, Shelbi, Karter, Jagger, Carsen and Kailey; and one brother, Ray (Judy) Lindberg of Dell Rapids, SD.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Loren; her son, Nelson; her parents; one brother, Ron; and one sister, Janelle Bybee.
