Mike Walsh

Michael “Mike” J. Walsh, age 72, of Watertown, SD, passed away on Saturday, October 2, 2021, at Avantara in Lake Norden, SD.  Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 7, 2021, at Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown. Rev. Steve Anderson will officiate. The service will be Live-Streamed and Facebook Live via the Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel website.

Visitation will be at the Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown on Wednesday from 5-7 p.m.

Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Watertown.  Active pallbearers will be: Ryan Walsh, Trevor Walsh, Adam Knight, Paul Urban, Teven Sigurdson, Tayler Ringler, and Chad Urban.

Mike was born on June 19, 1949, in Watertown, SD, to Leo and Donna Mae (Mitchell) Walsh. He attended school in Watertown.

On March 13, 1967, Mike married Gloria Williams. They made their home in Watertown, where Mike started working at Chickasha Mobile Homes. He later was employed by Terex-Telelect for over 32 years as a boom assembler.

He was an avid Nascar and dirt track racing fan.  Mike enjoyed hunting, fishing building things, and wood working.

Mike is survived by his wife, Gloria, of Watertown; one son, Doug (Heather) Walsh, of Watertown; one daughter, Michelle Walsh, of Watertown; five grandchildren: Trevor, Tayler, Jordan, Morgan, and Evan; three great-grandchildren; Alexus, Maddie, and Ellie; one brother, Danny (Dianne) Walsh of Watertown; and one sister, Jennifer Knight of Sioux Falls, SD.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents; his stepfather, Donald Johnson; one son, Jamie; two brothers: Bobby and Donnie Walsh; and one sister, Julie Walsh.
