Joyce A Green

Joyce A. Green, age 92, of Watertown, SD, passed away on Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at Jenkins Living Center.  Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown.  Pastor Scott Dempster will officiate.  The family is requested to meet at the chapel on Tuesday by 10:00 a.m. for a prayer service. 

Visitation will be at the Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown on Monday, March 13, 2023 from 5-7 p.m. and prior to services at the chapel on Tuesday.

Burial will at Lorinda Cemetery in rural Henry. Honorary pallbearer will be Greg Green.  Active pallbearers will be her grandsons Eric Muller, Luke Muller, Travis York, Dennis York Jr., Kevin Green, Robert Heine, Thor Green and Jason Green.

Joyce was born on April  18, 1930, in Naples, SD, to Walter and Vera (Clark) Pomeroy.  She attended school through 8th grade in Naples and then attended Clark High school.

On December 3, 1946, Joyce married Louis Green in Watertown, SD.  The couple made their home on the farm east of Clark, SD. Later they moved to Henry, SD, McLaughlin, SD and then settled in Watertown, SD.  Joyce started selling AVON in 1962. It mushroomed into a career for 35 years. She sold AVON and earned many prizes and honors.  In 1978 she won a cruise to the Bahamas, which she and her husband enjoyed very much.  Joyce was an accomplished seamstress and quilter.  She was an avid knitter and had a passion for genealogy and storytelling.

Joyce is survived by; two daughters, Judy York, of Watertown, SD, Barb (Rod) Muller, of Florence, SD; three sons, David Green, of Florence, SD, John (Dianne) Green, of Frederick, CO, Billy (Deborah) Green, of  Redfield, SD; seventeen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Louis, grandson Greg, daughter-in-law Linda Green, son-in-law, Dennis York, great-granddaughter Emma Rose Green and step great-granddaughter, Tabitha Riley.
