John T. Graf, age 67, of Watertown, SD, passed away on Tuesday, October 5, 2021, in Watertown.
A Celebration of Life honoring John will be held in the back event room at the VFW in Watertown on Thursday, October 14th, from 4-7 p.m.
John was born on December 15, 1953, in Watertown, to Edward and Phyllis (Hawley) Graf. He graduated from Watertown High School in 1972.
On December 4, 1976, John married JoEllen Warne in Bryant, SD. The couple made their home in Watertown, where John did road construction and worked as a supervisor at Enercept and RMR Industries. He later opened his own wood shop, Graf Custom Cabinets & Furniture. Woodworking was his life. From beautiful custom wood cabinetry to home remodeling, he was a very talented craftsman.
Throughout his life, John enjoyed wood carving, driving his motorcycle, flying radio-controlled aircrafts, attending air shows, target shooting, hunting, fishing, building and racing ice boats and spending time with friends at the VFW.
John is survived by his children: Brooke Graf of Lincoln, NE; Matthew (Stacey) Graf of Okinawa, Japan; Dana Graf of Watertown and Jordan Graf of Watertown; 8 grandchildren: Emmi, Isaac, Ava, Preston, Mattison, Ashlan, Adalan and Jaxon; two brothers: Bob (Sherry) Graf of Watertown and Jim (Jane) Graf of Eden Prairie, MN; one sister: Linda Schuller of Watertown; many nieces and nephews; and his close friend, April Chaisson.
John was preceded in death by his parents and his brother-in-law, Mike Schuller.
