Visitation will be at Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown on Thursday from 5-7 p.m., with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m.

Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Watertown.

Eunice was born July 27, 1955, in Freeman, SD, to David and Ruth (Ewert) Glanzer. Blessed to have shared her life are her loving husband of 47 years, Wayne, of Watertown; three children: Kim Fuller, of Henry, SD, Lori (Ryan) Van Dusseldorp, of Watertown, SD, and Scott (Stacy) Olivier, of Peoria, AZ. She was their #1 fan growing up, never missing a sporting event or extracurricular activity. She instilled many of the values that helped the kids become who they are today.

Eunice had 9 grandchildren: Carter, Peyton, Jacob, Collin, Briella, Olivia, Jaxson, Hannah, and Emily. They were her pride and joy. You would always find her at a hockey rink, softball field, football field, dance recitals, track meets, music performances, special events, or catching a live- stream of Arizona grandkids. If they needed anything, grandma was the first one there. She also enjoyed sewing clothing for the grandkid’s dolls. They will miss her greatly.

Eunice is survived by her mother, Ruth (Ewert) Glanzer, of Spencer, SD, two brothers: Clyde (Valerie) Glanzer, of Crooks, SD, and Dwight (Stacey) Glanzer, of N. Sioux City, SD; five sisters: Donna (John) Ruden, of Spencer, SD, Lois (Brad) Hofer, of Bridgewater, SD, Rosie (Ron) Reif, of Spencer, SD, Sharon (Scott) Reif, of Spencer, SD, and Karen (Donald) Mentele, of Pierre, SD; mother-in-law, Irene (Dykstra) Olivier, of Brandon, SD;  two brothers-in-law: Craig (Julie) Olivier, of Johnson Siding, SD, and Gary (Laurie) Olivier, of Pierre, SD; one sister-in-law, Dianne (Charlie) Henson, of Brandon, SD; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, David E. Glanzer; father-in-law, Marvin Olivier; infant sister, granddaughter, Emma Van Dusseldorp; and two nephews: Jared Glanzer, and Rocky Hofer.

Eunice was raised on a farm just outside of Spencer, SD.  As the oldest, Eunice performed a lot of the household duties, such as cooking and cleaning. Eunice enjoyed riding horses, butchering chickens, crawdad fishing, playing softball, and getting together with family for the annual 4th of July celebration.  Eunice graduated from Spencer, SD, in 1973. While attending nursing school at Mitchell Tech, she met Wayne Olivier. They dated a short time, and were married on August 24, 1974, in Spencer, SD. After marriage, they moved to Pierre, SD. Eunice took a job at Country Kitchen and started a family. Eunice and Wayne had 3 children in Pierre, then moved to North Dakota. While living in Dodge, ND, she babysat multiple kids as well as raising her own. She shared a special bond with a little girl named Jessie. She was active in the local church and established many lifelong friendships. After ND, the family moved multiple times in SD, creating many more lasting friendships. Finally settling in Watertown, SD, in 1988, she helped Wayne establish their own electrical contracting business. She worked very hard helping the electrical company, and worked multiple jobs to help make ends meet while running a household. She was a member of the Bemis Christian Reformed Church, actively serving as an elders/deacons wife, and volunteering anywhere there was a need. After the kids were grown, Wayne’s job took them to Wyoming, and then back to North Dakota, where they were able to reconnect with many old friends, and find a job she enjoyed at North Dakota Farmers Union as a travel coordinator. They attended Victory Lutheran Church, where they hosted a bible study they loved. They spent many hours traveling back to South Dakota to watch grandkids events. In 2020, they were able to transfer back to Watertown, SD, to be around children and grandchildren. Eunice was able to retire, and spend her days enjoying her time with family.

The family of Eunice Olivier thanks you for your support and presence today. An invitation is extended to join them after the service for a light lunch and refreshments.
