Doris E. Huber

Doris Huber, age 91, formerly of Moorhead, MN, passed away quietly on Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at the Good Samaritan Society in De Smet, SD.

Memorial Services will take place at a later date.

Doris was born August 28, 1931 in Wapella, IL to Everett and Nellie (Summers) Baker. Doris attended schools in Illinois, California, Waubun, and graduated from Detroit Lakes High School.

On October 27, 1951 Doris was married to J. Richard Arnold. Together they farmed and raised five children near Hawley, MN. Doris also worked in various retail sales positions in the community eventually retiring after many years as a successful flooring salesperson at Weivoda Carpet.

On April 13, 2002, Doris married Terry Huber. They made their home in North Moorhead.

Doris was well known by friends, neighbors and family for her beautiful flower beds and wonderful cooking and baking skills. She was a lifelong member of the Hawley United Methodist Church. Throughout her life Doris remained a fiercely independent woman in thought and action, always acting on her convictions.

Doris is survived by her daughters: Linda (Dave) Arnold, Fergus Falls, Tammy Wilson, Gardner, KS, Julie (Paul) Johnson, Lake Preston, SD; her stepsons, Billy Huber and Darcy Huber, her grandchildren, David Gorden, Aimee Probasco, Angela Cade, Marissa Rehder and Alida Gunderson, seven step-grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.

Doris is preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her sons, John Michael Arnold and Bruce Richard Arnold.
