Coradean Reuer

Coradean “Cory” Reuer, age 76, of Beresford, SD, formerly of Watertown, SD, passed away on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, at Bethesda Home in Beresford.  Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, August 26, 2022, at Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown.  Rev. Dave Nerdig will officiate.

Visitation will be at Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown on Friday, August 26, 2022, prior to the services from 10:00 – 11:30 a.m.

Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Watertown.  Active pallbearers will be Kevin Fischer, Jeff Hanson, Lance Perrion, Micheal Perrion, Ryan Perrion and Mark Reuer.

Coradean “Cory” Ehresmann was born on May 23, 1946, in Aberdeen, SD to Harold and Winifred Ehresmann. She lived on a farm east of Hosmer, SD, until she was 15 years old when the family moved to town. Cory graduated from Hosmer High School in 1964.

She married Orvie Reuer on August 14, 1970, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Selby, SD, and moved to Hoven, SD. It was in Hoven where Cory ran a craft shop out of their house. In 1976, Orvie and Cory adopted Kim, and in 1979, they adopted Eric. She later gave birth to Jason on Sept 6, 1979. The family moved to Watertown, SD, in 1984 where she ran a daycare business out of their home. After living in various other places, Cory bought her childhood home in Hosmer. It was shortly after purchasing this home, she suffered a series of strokes and was transferred to Covington Nursing Home in Sioux Falls. In 2019, she was transferred to Bethesda Nursing Home in Beresford, where she lived until she passed on August 9th, 2022.

Cory had various hobbies including gardening, canning, fishing, hunting, jigsaw puzzles, doing crafts, and watching the Minnesota Twins baseball games. Over the years, she had a variety of jobs from working in hotels, waitressing, running a daycare and selling Avon.

Coradean is survived by one daughter: Kim Reuer of Los Angeles, CA;  two sons: Eric (Shelby) Reuer of Sioux Falls and Jason Reuer of Sioux Falls; one sister, Phyllis (Tom) Jacobson of Spicer, MN; one brother, Curt (Coleen) Ehresmann of Sioux Falls; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Orvie; “son”, Monte Wingen; her parents, and one sister, Sharon Sandmeier.
